Sneak Peek at the Bamboo

I’ve been seeing more bloggers post pictures with their own handwriting on the photos.

A few examples from a fav blog,  A Beautiful Mess:

I started researching tablets and programs that would allow me to write electronically on my photos. I quickly found out that it is not cheap!

Thankfully, a friend of ours is a graphic designer and he let me borrow his Bamboo. I downloaded a free editing program called GIMP and started playing around (after putting GIMP into this song).

Here’s a sneak peek at a few of my first pics:

I like the idea of taking a very simple ho-hum landscape photo and adding font. In this case, the first mountains I’d ever seen on our honeymoon to Vegas. I liked the airbrush technique because it was not too bold and it resembled sky-writing.

I’m also a big fan of anthropomorphizing my pets. In this case, Bunny. You’ll be seeing more doodle pics soon!
